I've spent 47 years as a lecturer in economics at Berlin Institute of Technology in Berlin. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more. Former students now work as a bank clerk and in a dozen other fields. It is the best part of this job.

What gifts mean to Prof. Franke: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
