I've spent 14 years as a lecturer in agriculture at Toronto Institute of Technology in Toronto. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer. It sounds small, but students remember small things.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Prof. Chavez
I retired from full-time teaching but still mentor a few students a year.
What gifts mean to Prof. Chavez: Any gift helps me keep buying books for students who can't afford them.
