I spent 25 years as a lecturer in computer science at Valley View University in Birmingham. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I watch every football match going.
More about Prof. Avila
I retired from full-time teaching but still mentor a few students a year.
