Portia Danso
Local shoemaking and painting and decorating
- 🇬🇭 Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana
- Unity Shop
- 2013 to 2023
- English, Twi
I've worked in shoemaking from 2013 to 2023. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 380 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I make terrible puns.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Portia
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Portia: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
