Portia Adwoa Danso
Mentor in software and first-generation students
- 🇬🇭 Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana
- St. Mary's Mentoring Circle
- 1996 to 2023
- English, Twi
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 570 people through St. Mary's Mentoring Circle.
I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Portia
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Portia: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.

you helped me get my first software job in 1999. I still have your notes. Greetings from Tiruchirappalli.
