Piper Barnes
Biology and physics teacher, Newport
- 🇬🇧 Newport, Wales, United Kingdom
- Newport Grammar School
- 1988 to 2018
- English
For 30 years I was the biology teacher at Newport Grammar School. I taught teenagers and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Piper
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Piper: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
