I've been a nurse for 17 years, most of them in dialysis at Corpus Christi Regional Medical Center in Corpus Christi. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I walk the dog by the river.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
