Paula Laura Schmitt
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇩🇪 Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany
- The Willow Creek Trades Guild
- Since 1994
- German, English
I've worked in blacksmithing since 1994. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 1,660 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.

If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Paula: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
