I coached netball at Feira de Santana Harmony Football Club from 2009 to 2017. Most of my players were between 9 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
