I coached gymnastics at Hillcrest Athletic Club from 1989 to 2004. Most of my players were between 8 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Pamela
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
