I've coached basketball at Mombasa Unity Football Club since 2000. Most of my players were between 8 and 15, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Ouma
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Ouma: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
