Oshan Indika Mendis
Master of pottery, now teaching apprentices
- 🇱🇰 Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka
- Since 1988
- English
My trade is pottery. I opened my own shop in 1988 in Colombo and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Oshan: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
