I coached chess at Shinjuku Athletic Club from 2000 to 2025. Most of my players were between 10 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
More about Osamu
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
