I've been a nurse for eight years, most of them in palliative care at St. Joseph's University Hospital in Tel Aviv. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else. I try to remember everyone's name. Small things matter when someone is frightened. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
