Opio Simiyu
Coached chess for nine years in Kisumu
- 🇰🇪 Kisumu, Kisumu, Kenya
- Kisumu Hillcrest Youth Club
- 1997 to 2006
- English, Swahili
For nine years I ran the chess program at Kisumu Hillcrest Youth Club in Kisumu. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
I'm still learning every day.
What gifts mean to Opio: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
