Opio Athumani

Youth cross country coach and mentor

  • 2006 to 2023
  • English
I coached cross country at Kinondoni Oakwood Youth Club from 2006 to 2023. Most of my players were between 8 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I run most mornings.

More about Opio

Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Opio: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
