Omolara Queen Adebayo

Youth chess coach and mentor

  • 🇳🇬 Gwagwalada, Abuja FCT, Nigeria
  • Gwagwalada Football Club
  • 2018 to 2025
  • English, Hausa
For eight years I ran the chess program at Gwagwalada Football Club in Gwagwalada. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never once raised my voice. I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

More about Omolara

I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
