Omkar B. Pandya

Teacher at Sunrise Middle School, loves home economics

  • 🇮🇳 Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India
  • Sunrise Middle School
  • 1982 to 1995
  • English
I taught home economics at Sunrise Middle School in Chennai from 1982 to 1995. Most days I taught first-year students, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk. Over the years I had 470 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.

More about Omkar

Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

What gifts mean to Omkar: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

You taught me home economics in 2007 at Sunrise Middle School. I still remember the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand. Thank you again.
