I taught social studies at Lincoln Boys' School in Kano from 1996 to 2012. Most days I taught Grade 6, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 430 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
