Okello Mukasa Mwende
Calligraphy and mural painting artist
- 🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya
- Old Our Lady of Peace Pottery
- 2017 to 2025
- English, Swahili
I'm a calligraphy artist based in Kasarani. I've been making things from 2017 to 2025 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives.
Most of my work is inspired by old photographs. I make terrible puns.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Okello
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
What gifts mean to Okello: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.

I bought one of your pieces in 2019. It's still the first thing I see in the morning! Greetings from Bangkok.
