Okello Macharia Mutua
Baking for 23 years in Mukono
- 🇺🇬 Mukono, Central Region, Uganda
- Mukono Works
- 1987 to 2010
- English
My trade is baking. I opened my own shop in 1987 in Mukono and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I answer every message, eventually.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Okello
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Okello: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
