Okan Batuhan Çakır
Volunteer mentor with Westbrook Youth Network
- 🇹🇷 İzmir, İzmir, Türkiye
- Westbrook Youth Network
- 1995 to 2006
- English
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 640 people through Westbrook Youth Network.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Okan
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Okan: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
