I've coached chess at Kilkenny Community Club since 1985. Most of my players were between 10 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
I'm still learning every day.

If you played for me, you probably remember the long bus ride home.
What gifts mean to Oisin: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

I still think about the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Amsterdam.
