I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 440 people through Kampala Mentoring Circle.
I don't give advice so much as ask questions until the answer shows up. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
