I've been a nurse for 45 years, most of them in rehabilitation at Windsor Maternity Hospital in San Jose. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
