Nonso Usman Afolabi

Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices

🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria
The Lagos Works
Since 2005
English

My trade is thatching. I opened my own shop in 2005 in Lagos and I'm still there most mornings. The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 17 years later for another job.

More about Nonso

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Nonso: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
