Nolan W. Silva
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇿 Manukau, Auckland, New Zealand
- Old Westbrook Works
- 1984 to 2005
- English
My trade is blacksmithing. I opened my own shop in 1984 in Manukau and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.

What gifts mean to Nolan: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
