Nkechi Efe Eze
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Zaria, Kaduna, Nigeria
- The Zaria Repairs
- Since 2004
- English
I've worked in weaving since 2004. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 400 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Nkechi: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
