Njeri Muthoni Githinji
Coached chess for 23 years in Kakamega
- 🇰🇪 Kakamega, Kakamega, Kenya
- Kakamega Athletic Club
- 1990 to 2013
- English, Swahili
For 23 years I ran the chess program at Kakamega Athletic Club in Kakamega. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
More about Njeri
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
