Nihal Defne Özkan
Master of masonry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇹🇷 Kadıköy, Istanbul, Türkiye
- Old Kadıköy Trades Guild
- Since 2006
- English, Turkish
I've worked in masonry since 2006. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 1,160 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I fix old bicycles.
More about Nihal
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Nihal: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
