Ngozika Peace Yakubu
Master of upholstery, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria
- Ikeja Trades Guild
- Since 2006
- English, Hausa
I've worked in upholstery since 2006. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 920 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 20 years later for another job.
More about Ngozika
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Ngozika: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
