Naoko Miyazaki

Upholstery for 18 years in Setagaya

  • 🇯🇵 Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan
  • Since 2008
  • Japanese
I've worked in upholstery since 2008. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 500 apprentices. Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

More about Naoko

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

Crafts and trades

What gifts mean to Naoko: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
