I've been a nurse for nine years, most of them in palliative care at Lakeview Maternity Hospital in Dar es Salaam. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
