Nakato Ruth Githinji

Youth baseball coach and mentor

  • 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Since 2004
  • English, Swahili
For 22 years I've run the baseball program at Dar es Salaam Sports Club in Dar es Salaam. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learn every name in the first week. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

More about Nakato

If you played for me, you probably remember the surprise birthday cake.

What gifts mean to Nakato: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
