I taught art at Kisumu Technical College in Kisumu from 2001 to 2021. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 980 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Mwende
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the farm, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Mwende: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

You taught me art in 2012 at Kisumu Technical College. I still remember that terrible school play.

I'm a farmer now and I honestly think it started in your classroom. Greetings from Quezon City.
