Mutua Kiptoo Massawe
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda
- The Baobab Workshop
- Since 2002
- English, Swahili
My trade is blacksmithing. I opened my own shop in 2002 in Kampala and I'm still there most mornings.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 10 years later for another job.

What gifts mean to Mutua: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
