I taught chemistry at Hillcrest Academy in Nairobi from 1984 to 2016. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
I coached the school's quiz team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Mutua
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
