Mussa Wafula Kato

Master of shoemaking, now teaching apprentices

  • 🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya
  • Embakasi Trades Guild
  • Since 2018
  • English
My trade is shoemaking. I opened my own shop in 2018 in Embakasi and I'm still there most mornings. I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I fix old bicycles. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

More about Mussa

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

Crafts and trades

What gifts mean to Mussa: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.

You fixed our roof in 2024 and charged half what others asked. Greetings from Dundee.
