Mukasa Wafula Okello
Jazz player and teacher in Likoni
- 🇰🇪 Likoni, Mombasa, Kenya
- Likoni Ensemble
- Since 1995
- English, Swahili
I play jazz and traditional drumming. I started in 1995 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 11 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
More about Mukasa
I write my first song when I was 17. It was terrible and I still love it.
