Mukasa David Tembo
Local welding and shoemaking
- 🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda
- Since 2009
- English, Spanish
My trade is welding. I opened my own shop in 2009 in Kampala and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I carry a notebook everywhere.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Mukasa: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
