I taught French at Maple Ridge High School in Yogyakarta from 2011 to 2022. Most days I taught first-year students, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I had 240 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Muhammad
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
