I taught environmental science at Tokyo Boys' School in Tokyo from 1988 to 2002. Most days I taught primary school children, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 840 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
