For ten years I was the Spanish teacher at Pietermaritzburg Secondary School. I taught Year 9 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I run most mornings. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
What gifts mean to Ms. Venter: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
