I taught music at Los Angeles Academy in Los Angeles from 2009 to 2018. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I never turned anyone away.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
What gifts mean to Ms. Vega: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
