I teach history at San Francisco Secondary School in San Francisco since 1994. Most days I teach mixed-ability classes, and I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
I've run the gardening club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Ms. Vargas
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the capital, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
What gifts mean to Ms. Vargas: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
