For 47 years I have been the physical education teacher at Ciudad de México Academy. I teach Year 10 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Ms. Valdez: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
