I teach religious studies and social studies at Bakersfield Middle School, Bakersfield. I play music while people worked.
I've run the school newspaper after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I sing in a choir.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ms. Valdez
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
