I taught design and technology at Victory High School in Aurangabad from 1982 to 2012. Most days I taught Year 7, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 1,710 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
