I taught special education at Crescent Secondary School in Oakland from 1995 to 2019. Most days I taught primary school children, and I answered every email, even at midnight.
Outside the classroom I run most mornings. Inside it, I answered every email, even at midnight.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Ms. Turner: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
