For 36 years I have been the special education teacher at Eastgate High School. I teach the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window. Inside it, I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I'm still learning every day.

What gifts mean to Ms. Thakkar: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
